Today, we hung out at the RV for awhile. I am trying to decide what to pack and what to leave, for my next leg of vacation. My dilemma is that I am not traveling with the truck, but with the Corolla, I am limited on space.

I came across a super sale at the Stamp Addict. http://thestampaddictblog.com/ All their stamps were 40% off and selected 12x12 paper was on sale for .25. I was not that bad....only spent $24.00.

Came home for mandatory nap time, then off to the pool for an hour or so.

Did a quick visit with my dad, then my uncle. Off to bed for another day. I think tomorrow we will head to the beach. My dad let up borrow the boogie boards. Should be an interesting day.
Yesterday, the girls and I picked up my aunt to drive over to Coronado. The weather was very overcast and chilly, however, the girls didn't care. We headed to a small portion of the beach over by the Old Ferry Landing. The girls played in the water for quite awhile. DD#1 got very cold and hung out under a towel, DD#2 does not care about being cold and continued to play in the water.

We walked over to Peohe's http://www.peohes.com/ to take a picture of the girls in front of the sign. Last fall, my sister and brother-in-law got married and had their reception at this location. It brought back great memories of their wedding. Check out their blog with all their great adventures: http://www.petenhollysworld.blogspot.com/.

Everyone ate a quick lunch, in order to have a cupcake from Coronado Cupcakery http://coronadocupcakery.com/. The Peppermint Patty cupcake was cut into 4 pieces. Yum Yum extra Yum.

I figured since we were on Coronado that my aunt should see the Hotel Del. http://hoteldel.com/. We walked around the hotel for awhile looking at the shops and restaurants and of course the amazing beach. The girls had to hit the water again. They collected some shells and played with the seaweed.

Home for quiet time and of course a trip to the library. The girls were excited to find the movie Princess and the Frog.

It was a very busy day, we shall see what the rest of the week will bring.

Well, shall I say that Phoenix was HOT. I think it was about 110 degrees most of the weekend. DH took the girls in the jeep up to the mountains, for some cooler weather. He was up there most of the day.

It was good that we took the girls, because I woke up with my 7th migraine in 2 weeks. I laid around most of the morning, then took a 4 hour nap. I never take naps, so I was really sick. I think I am going to contact my doctor.

The trip back from Phoenix was less eventful than going out.

The girls and I are happy that it is not hot here in San Diego. Unfortunately, our next stop on vacation is Sacramento, which is about 108 degrees. I am not sure why I picked such a hot place. hahaha

10 hours in the truck, with 2 amazing girls, we are finally here.

The plan was to go Los Angeles area to visit my in-laws and niece and nephew, then head out to Phoenix. Well, as soon as I arrived I realized I left my purse in San Diego. I had no licence, cash, credit cards, and no migraine medication. I had to borrow cash from father-in-law to put fuel in the truck to even get back to San Diego.

Back to San Diego, got my purse then off to Phoenix. As we were driving, e saw a hillside on fire just outside San Diego. They had the west bound lanes shut down and we were driving in the shoulder east bound. Pretty scary to see fire on the side of the freeway.

We stopped in the lovely Yuma, for a quick bit of dinner, then off to Phoenix.

I hope the girls sleep past 5:30am tomorrow.

P.S. The girls did have fun playing with their cousins, while in Los Angeles.

Wednesday was my day to relax. I dropped the girls off with my godparents for a couple of hours. I got to have phone conversations uninterrupted and I didn't have to share my iced mocha. I know it is the little things in life, but they are nice.

I went to the Buffalo Exchange http://www.buffaloexchange.com/, looking for some vintage dresses. Didn't find any vintage dress, but did purchased 2 dresses. Then, I headed to the Paper Tales http://www.papertales.typepad.com/to look at their full A Muse rubber stamp http://www.amuseartstamps.com/collection. I only purchased two A Muse stamp, but I found a lot of other goodies the amazing store.

When I arrived back at my godparents house, they had a early birthday party for DD#2. There was cake, ice cream, banners and gifts. DD#2 was so surprised! It was a great party.

Nap and library like always.

The girls and I heading to the pool for awhile before dinner.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. We are heading to the Los Angeles area, to visit my niece and nephew, along with my in-laws. My in-laws traveled from Phoenix to grandchild watch while my brother and sister-in-law went on vacation in La Jolla. We will spend the morning with them swimming or going to the park, then head off to Phoenix for the weekend.

The girls are missing their dad and dad is missing them!! We only have one more week in San Diego, before heading to Northern California for another month.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

This morning we headed to Scripps Park in La Jolla. http://www.sandiego.gov/park-and-recreation/parks/shoreline/ebscripps.shtml My brother and sister-in-law in are town for a vacation and we got an opportunity to meet up with them. My sister-in-law wanted to take some pictures of the girls and just have fun.

After some time at the park, we met up with my brother-in-law for some lunch at The Spot. http://www.thespotonline.com/. I had a crab club and the girls shared mini hot dogs. We had a great time with family.

Home for nap and another trip to the library. I am trying hard to keep up the reading over the summer.
Monday we went to the zoo, however only for a short period of time. DD#1 got bored quickly. After leaving the zoo, we walked over to Balboa Park. I always love walking around enjoying the gardens and magnificent architecture. The girls and I took the free trolley around the park, it is only 15 minutes, however we got off after a few stops, the driver was horrible. His jokes were not funny and he was not very interesting. There is another female driver who is amazing, I was hoping to get her, maybe next time.

Stopped at Chili's for lunch, then quick trip to see Papa at work.

Came home for a quick nap and then another trip to the library.

As you can tell our mornings are packed with lots of activities and the afternoon are bit more quiet.

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Sunday was a lazy day.

Started the morning off with a run, while pushing the girls in the double jogging stroller. That is a lot of weight to push while running, in case you were wondering.

Played at two different parks.

Decided we needed fruit and vegetables, since we were down to one orange.

Nap

Returned library movies and books and checked out new ones.

Visited with my aunt and uncle. I should say only my aunt, my uncle was snoring away for his afternoon nap.

Got another migraine. That would be a total of 4 this week, plus one really bad headache. I think that is enough for anyone!! I have no idea why, but I don't want any more!!

Evening movie for the girls and bedtime for all.

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Today the girls and I headed to the San Diego County Fair, with my aunt and uncle. http://www.sdfair.com/fair/index.php?fuseaction=fair.home DD#1 got a chance to ride on her 1st roller coaster, she had a smile from ear to ear. DD#2 rode on the ferris wheel. We walked through the agriculture areas, looking at all the cows, goats, sheep, pigs and chicken.

I was able to stick to my budget of only purchasing tickets for kid rides. I packed our lunches and water and sunscreen. We spent about 4 hours at the fair in only the kid areas, while my aunt and uncles stayed much later. I was thankful to have the help on my aunt and uncle to manage the girls today!

Friday.....Donut day. Even DD#2 said first thing this morning, "It is donut day!".

DD#1 has a friend who is in town from Phoenix, so there is a , play date at McDonalds, this morning.

Our family is celebrating Father's Day early, since my dad has to work on Sunday. We there is be about 12 of us gathering at a restaurant to celebrate. Unfortunately, DH is not able to come over this weekend. But we will see him the weekend of 4th of July.
Our neighbors next door are a neat family from Huntington Beach, CA. They have 3 boys ranging from 14 to 3 and all are homeschooled. I think the prerequisite for staying in that spot is you must homeschooled. We have been hanging out with their family quite a bit.

Yesterday the two older boys and their father went deep sea fishing, while the youngest and mom hung out at the campsite. Since DD#2 and I were also hanging out at the campsite, we did crafts and played with there youngest son. Later that evening when dad and the boys got home with a ton (well not really a ton) of fresh fillets of Yellowtail fish, dad did an amazing job on BBQ! They brought over some of the best fish I have ever eaten!!

Finally to finish off the night, the youngest son brought over "The princess and the frog" DVD to share with my girls. The kids sat and watched the movie late into the night.

Thursday, June 17, 2010

This week has been filled with sickness. DD#2 has had a temperature of a couple of days and I have had 3 migraines. We have been laying low, with very little activity.

Today DD#1 is having one on one time with grandpa and DD#2 is watching movies and sleeping. I hope we are all done being sick. I am hoping for a better weekend.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

EARTHQUAKE!!! I got woke up around 9:30 pm to the entire 5th wheel moving around. The news is reporting a magnitude of 5.7, plus many of aftershocks.

Monday, June 14, 2010

Sunday morning the girls and I met a friend for breakfast in the Old Town area. http://www.livingroomcafe.com/old-town.php We had a great time catching up on all the new things in our lives. The girls enjoyed eating outside.

After breakfast the girls and I walked about the Old Town area and learned about the history of San Diego. I guess I should say I learned about the history, as I started reading the signs the girls were off and running. However, they did like to pet the donkeys they had on display.

It must have been my lucky day because both kids took a long nap! I was able to watch some of my movie I got from the library. It was a nice and needed break.

Naps were over and we headed to the pool. DD#1 decided it was much too cold to be in the pool, so she sat in the hot tub. DD#2 doesn't care what the temperature, she swam and swam.

Our neighbors came home late from a day at the zoo. The kids all played together until 9:30 pm, but didn't mind because the family is moving on to a different location on Monday. So, bedtime was quite late, and to my surprise they actually slept in until 6:00 am. HAHAHA I guess it is better than 5:30 am.

Today has no plans as of yet, we shall see what the day will bring.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Saturday was $2 tank top sale at Old Navy, unfortunately we got a late start. When we arrived around 10 am there was about 50 people in line and 100 or more people shopping. To say the least we turned around and left.

The girls and I walked down to Barnes and Noble to read books and hang out. It happened to be story time, sponsored by the local transit system. The book being read was Lorax, by Dr. Seuss. I had forgotten just how long the book was. After the story, there was free items from the transit company and a free trolley ride. We walked over to the trolley and it was a trolley that had the Lorax themed wrapped around the entire car. The trolley was only operating for our story group. There were a total of 12 people, plus staff. The trolley didn't make and stops until we reached our destination, about 20 minutes, then turned around and went back. The girls thought this was really cool.

Later in the afternoon, my aunt and uncle came over for some "adult" time and a chance to see the girls. I remember hanging out with them` when my cousins were my girls age and now they are almost 21 and 17. They brought over dinner and some adult beverages. I loved catching up with them. I hope to see them a couple more times before we leave.

Each weekend there are people who come and go in the RV Park. Today we got new neighbors, they have been traveling for 2 weeks, from Connecticut. The amazing thing is there are 7 of them, 2 adults and 5 children. All my guess all school age up to high school. They are all homeschooled and super polite and very sociable. They only stay in places 2 to 3 days at a time, them pack up to the next place. What an amazing way to see the country!!!

Friday, June 11, 2010

Friday morning started with donuts as usual, then off to the San Diego zoo. This time we took my aunt. She had not been to the zoo before. I don't she thought there would be so much walking. She enjoyed the polar bears, elephants and the spending time with her nieces. Today was a very long day of exercising.

This weekend should be a lazy time.

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Thursday: San Diego zoo. The highlights were the polar bears, monkeys, hippos, flamingos and best of all the peacocks. There were two males strutting off their feathers. The girls just stood there for 20 watching the peacock. The other cool things was last week the flamingos were sitting on their eggs and this week we saw one baby flamingo.

Tomorrow is donut day!!

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Wednesday morning my aunt, myself and the girls all headed to the beach. It was still cloudy and chilly when we arrived. Of course the girls did not care, they ran straight for the water. This time at the beach we came across small sand crabs, the girls loved them. We put them into a small bucket filled with sand and water and watched them dig down under the sand. Don't worry no crabs were hurt and they were all returned to the sea.

We met up with my uncle in the late afternoon and ate an early dinner. Indian food was requested by my aunt, who married my uncle and moved from India last fall. The girls did a great job eating everything that was presented to them on their plates. I would definitely eat Indian food again.

I am enjoying getting to know my aunt and her culture.
Tuesday was a special day, we spent it with my godmother and her family. My girls are their grandchildren as well. In the morning, they collected snails from under and behind all the plants and named them. Two of my favorite names were Slime Head and Slow Poke. Once named the girls tried to have a snail race, some climbed up the wall and others down just sat doing nothing.

After the race, the girls were very hungry. The hot dogs, BBQ potato chips, and world famous "pink salad" were all on the table. The pink salad has been served to me since I was born, I still love it to this day. I know some of you are wondering what are the ingredients, well.....cool whip, cottage cheese, crushed pineapple and pink jello mix. YUMMY!!

After leaving my godmother's house, we met up with my nephew to return some of the job application and pick up another 20 or so.

Monday, June 7, 2010

Monday consisted of helping my nephew find a job. We spend 2 hours driving around collecting applications and finding out who was hiring or just accepting applications. He ended up getting about 30 and there are about another 30 more business to try. Hopefully, one of the applications will result in a full time job!!

After naps, we hung our with my aunt at the local park. After the park, my grandparents/girl's great grandparents took us to McDonald's for a wonderful dinner. The girls got a happy meal and were able to play on the equipment. Everyone had a nice dinner.

The plans for tomorrow include visiting my godparents and more park playing!
Sunday was a lazy day. The girls and I walked 3 miles and played at two different playgrounds for the morning. The next plan was to clean the rv inside and out, it need much attention!

The girls took naps, while I continued my summer project. My summer project is to label four boxes of photos, dating back to my childhood. The good news is the last 8 years of my life are still stuck in the computer.

After naps, we headed to the pool for an afternoon cooling off time. I was surprised on how many people were at the pool, I guess summer has started.

The evening consisted of hanging out with my dad at the park and getting more items from the library.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Yesterday turned out to be a day of walking!! The girls and I headed up to the San Diego Wild Animal Park for the morning. We arrived when the park opened at 9 am and made the first tram, before it got too crowded. The girls didn't seem to care for the 15 minute tram ride, all I heard is "when is it going to be over?". I had forgotten how hilly the park it, but the girls didn't have a problem keeping up. DD#1 favorite part was parrots walking to her and DD#2 favorite part was seeing the baby elephants, 3 to be exact.

After the 20 minute nap in the truck on the way home, the girls were ready to go. I wish I could have had a nap! We ran a few errands, including another trip to the library to get more movies and a coffee shop stop for me.

That evening Papa came over to watch the girls, while I went to my aunt's 50th birthday party. What a great party! I was to happy to see my 2nd cousin (in think that is the relationship, my mom's cousin) I had not seen her and her husband in 20+ years. I love my family!

Who knows what tomorrow will bring. We were going to head to the Zoo again or my godparents house, however due to the PF Chang's Marathon, many of the road are closed down. I am staying clear of that area.

Friday, June 4, 2010

Friday was National Donut Day and with our family tradition, we started our morning with donuts. The donut shop we visited was so busy, the line was out the door the entire time we ate our breakfast.

The next stop was the beach with my dad or otherwise known as Papa. The sun was trying to break through when we first arrived, then it finally made it through. The water temperature was a nice 62 degrees. I wasn't thinking it was the right temperature for me, however the girls could care less. They playing in the waves, collected sea shells and made sand castles. We spent about 3 hours there, included eating a packed lunch.

After a quick drive home, everyone took naps for awhile, including myself. After naps, the girls wanted to go for a swim at the pool. Again the temperature was not up to par for me, but I gave it my best try. I think another week or so the water temp will be tolerable.

The day was a success and quite the water day.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Yesterday was another busy day, however just doing little things here and there. The girls and I went for a 2 mile walk with my Aunt, I am breaking her in slowly. Then, we helped my dad with some yard work. Came home for nap time, I wish it was for me.

Today, I am planning on getting a membership with the San Diego Zoo/San Diego Wild Animal Park. I am sure over the course of the month, we will be able to see the entire Zoo and Animal Park, in short segments. The girls have been to the Zoo twice before, however not to the Park.

Next week I have a friend from Phoenix coming over for her summer vacation. I am hoping to hang out with her and her girls.

Loving the nice cool weather so far!!

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

We have arrived. We pulled our 5th wheel to San Diego, CA. This is where the girls and I will be staying for the next month or so.

We did some grocery shopping and a Costco run to increase our food supply. We also had to increase our book and dvd selection, so with the help of my dad we did a library run. Gotta love the library!!!

Our first trip down to the beach was very chilly. I told DD#1 bathing suits will not be necessary today. She was so set on surfing today, however once we got down there, she agreed very cold! The girls did do some wave chasing and getting wet a bit with their shorts and bare feet. Of course those who know DD#2, she fell right in the water while trying to run away from a wave. The girls dug in the sand and picked up a few sea shells, then we ate our packed lunch.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
