Trip to Flagstaff

Last weekend we decided to take a little trip. We drove up to Payson, then over to Flagstaff. It is a beautiful scenic route, it sure beats highway 17. We played at the park in Payson for awhile, then continued to Flagstaff.

Once in Flagstaff we checked into our Hotel Aspen http://hotelaspenflagstaff.com/. I asked when I booked the reservation, where are you located in comparison to the train. They stated across the street, however the train does not blow it's horn at night through town, only the outskirts. For the record, the train's loud horn could be heard every 45 minutes through the night, even on the "outskirts" of town. I guess if you lived there full time, maybe you don't hear it. So, to say the least not a good night of sleeping. The girls of course had no problems sleeping.

For dinner we went to Oregango's, love this place!! I had the Oregano's favorite salad with chicken and husband had Busta Pasta. The girls enjoyed playing with the pizza dough our server gave us.

The next day, we headed to the Thorpe park in Flagstaff, for lots of fresh air. We spent some time around Lake Mary hunting up RV spots and took a little hike. Then, back the way we came, Flagstaff to Payson to PHX.

The weather was perfect and the pines smelled wonderful. The next trip to Flagstaff will involve our RV near Lake Mary and drive into Flagstaff. No more train horns at night!
