It's raining ice cubes

The other night a short storm brought us rain and hail. The girls went running outside to enjoy the storm.

DD#1 said "It's raining ice cubes."

DD#2, "Those ice cubes hurt."

After 5 minutes the sun was shining and hot.

Rainy season

We had a great monsoon hit today. We were surronded by thunderbumpers on all sides. Then about 5:00 pm, it hit hard, strong winds, heavy rains, thunder and lightening and some hail.

I love the rainy season!!

Painting the Master Bedroom

As many of you may know, I love to move furniture, change the color of my couch, change bedding colors and just plain rearrange everything.

The last 8 years, our master bedroom was a nice shade of purple. The color served its purpose, however it didn't go with all the color changes of my bedding. This weekend I painted the room a beige/tan/cream. It is a nice light shade, considering our room only has one window and is very dark.

My next project is to paint my front door RED!! I would have done it this weekend, however, there was major storms in the forecast, plus if not the storms it would still be 108 degrees. I didn't want my front door open for any length of time.

I will post pictures of the door when completed.

Girls, Girls and More Girls

I have two cousins (happen to be sister) who are pregnant with girls!! I offered to make baby thank you cards for each of them. Here is the first set for my cousin due in Oct. I made 4 of each design below.

I will now start on the second set of thank you cards, for my cousin due in January. Knowing her there will be yellow involved.

Roughing it

We decided to do a quick camping trip before school started. There were a few friends already camping near the Black Canyon Lake area, so we headed up.

The girls loved being in the tent and hiking around. There were several kids in the same age group to play with and quads to be taken on. The night concluded with sticky smores. The best!

I call it roughing it because we brought the tent, slept on the ground and pre-made sandwiches to eat and I am rather accustom to the luxury of my 5th wheel. I managed to make it threw the night. :)

However, I woke up with a horrible migraine, which included vomiting. I stayed in the tent until DH said he needed to break down camp. It was a long trip home, with several stops. But after a couple hours of napping and great meds, I am at least functioning.

Summer Highlights

112 degrees no AC

Yesterday, was my first day back to work in 5 years. It was great, but very different.

When I arrived home yesterday, I realized the air conditioner was NOT working. The inside temperature was 92 degrees, while the outside temperature was 112 degrees. After, turning off the AC, changing the filter and flipping the circuit breaker outside, it decided to work. I have a feeling we need a service call to double check nothing is really wrong with it.

Tonight is Back to School night for DD#1, to meet the teacher and see her new classroom.
